The staff was hard to find. We were arriving late so we contacted the guesthouse to confirm whether this would be ok. The response was "No problem, see you then.", but that was a lie. He accused my mother and I of treating the guesthouse like a love hotel for showing up late, and continued to yell at us until I was in tears. He kept yelling that he never received an email even though I had shown him both my email and his response email. I explained again that we had corresponded over email and I tried to show them to him again, but in response to this he flipped out, saying that if we were going to be like this, we can't stay there. Other customers were attempting to find us another hotel in the area, but everything was booked up. We booked a female dormitory but he said there's only a mixed dormitory left. He also told us we would have to pay ¥3000 each, but my booking confirmation email said it's ¥2500. He conceded to ¥2500 each after seeing the confirmation email. He was simultaneously arguing with another customer about their agreed-upon price. Also, their beds had been given to other customers, so they came back to their room to find someone sleeping in their beds. He eventually realized that he was wrong and apologized, bought us juice, and told us to "forget yesterday", forget his mistake.

Customer service. Bed was dirty. Room was hot.
